I love the anime for Onimai

>>631 Many! In this anime season alone I am enjoying two very good adaptations of series I already liked in Frieren and Kusuriya no Hitorigoto. It somewhat bothers me that I am not watching anime that aren't adaptations of things I have already read. 16bit Sensation is mildly interesting, but I couldn't enjoy Overtake even though it is about something I like.

I enjoyed Pluto

If you mean recent release date then it would be Bocchi the rock. It was cute and fun. If by recent memory you mean the time I saw the anime then it would be Monster, It's been in my plan-to-watch list for years so I eventually decided to watch it. It's an absolute masterpiece and I regret postponing watching it.

i may have underestimated how much anime i liked has aired since the start of 2020, because looking back over what i've watched, there's been so much that it's hard to list... >both seasons of Kyokou Suiri/In Spectre have aired >Mob Psycho 100's third season >Lycoris Recoil >Engage Kiss >Black Rock Shooter: Dawn Fall >Prima Doll >Onimai >Interspecies Reviewers >Tokyo Mew Mew got a remake >RWBY got an actual anime >Wonder Egg Priority >Yofukashi no Uta >Magical Destroyers >Kunoichi Tsubaki >Bocchi the Rock >Akebi-chan's Sailor Uniform and this isn't even mentioning the backlog of stuff i've seen since then. i think i started watching Monogatari in early 2020, and i've also seen Hellsing (2001), Evangelion, Code Geass, and Akiba's Trip over the past few years. >>632 Onimai is really good! I love how it looks, visually, it's pure eye candy. >>634 >It somewhat bothers me that I am not watching anime that aren't adaptations of things I have already read. i have the opposite problem, funnily enough; i didn't know 16bit Sensation, Dark Gathering, or Good Night World existed before i started watching their respective anime, but there are a handful of manga i really like that i'd love to see animated... i do wish anime originals were more common, i really liked the five of them i've seen recently, Engage Kiss and Lycoris Recoil especially being really cool

this week's episode of 16bit Sensation made me tear up, i really resonated with its message.

>>658 I wouldn't say it's only 4chan. It has been a big hit elsewhere too, it's getting lots of fanart on Pixiv for example. The manga is relatively successful; that's how I got into it. The threads for the manga were already relatively popular on 4chan, although I don't go a lot in /a/ so I can't say for sure. I honestly expected it to be successful, it's good. The pacing is nice, the anime improves the fights and follows to the letter what was already a good manga.

People just legitmatley love this and the only real complaints I've seen from people disliking it are either them not understanding the character and the message of the series and as a result finding her to be bland, while some are just hating on it because it's popular. I have a bad habbit of hyperfixating on 2000's anime and ignoring the new stuff but even I can say it's one of the best thats come out in years and will surely be looked back on as a classic if the rest of the series stays as consistently good as it has been so far.
