Hikari3 Spring 2024 Seasonal Anime Thread! 名無し 03/20/2024 (Wed) 19:34:03 No. 900 [Reply]
Second verse, same as the first! The longer daylight hours means more time to watch anime! What'll you be watching? Want to talk about an anime as it's airing? Post about it here!

>>969 Let's put it this way, using a less rule 9 reason. Love and marriage are important, and divorce shouldn't be idealized or shown to be normal. It unfortunately is extremely common in the real world, but in 2D you can portray ideals without the ugliness of the 3DPD world. Though this show seemingly aims to be "relevant" and "realistic" trash so there's that. >>970 >spoiler What drugs are you even on?
>>
>>973 >I have even less interest now that I see people claiming that it puts emphasis on social media to be fair, using twitter to promote your music, art or whatever is probably one of the few legitimate uses of social media. its better than your run of the mill attention whore. where else do you expect them to post their shit? some dead internet forum from the mid 2000s? meh. the view counter does get annoying but obsessing over it is what I would do if I was in their position. how else are they going to circumvent the studio system? im more bothered by the fact they want to be popular instead of being a successful underground act. you know like the vinny paz of indie idols minus the violent terroristic lyrics. >>973 > divorce shouldn't be idealized or shown to be normal. imagine being so poisoned by culture wars mind virus you think showing a single parent is some kind of promotional for divorce lol next time I see another anime where the main character gets isekai'd by truck-kun I'm gonna write to PM kishida complaining about the normalization and idealization of vehicle accidents

I've pretty much got my shows this season selected now after dropping around 5-6 that didn't appeal to me for one reason or another. Not a standout season, but it has several comfy shows which is more than enough for me. Some of the ones I like the most: - Ookami to Koushinryou: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf - Exceeding my expectations so far. Not a big fan of how it feels "budgety" compared to the original, but that's (most) 2024 adaptations for you. Still an enjoyable experience and I really like how they've given plenty of attention to Holo's cuteness. - Astro Note - I wasn't too big on this at first, but it's grown on me and the characters' interactions with each other are nice. Gets repetitive at some points ("let's find the key for *real* this time") but the plot's obviously not the main aim of the show. - Jii-san Baa-san Wakagaeru - Pretty cute show that I've liked more than I expected. Despite it being primarily about the old couple, I find myself cheering the younger two just as much. - Lv2 kara Cheat datta Moto Yuusha Kouho no Mattari Isekai Life - Really fun for being such a "generic" show, and it having Kugimiya Rie who also did the OP(!) is a must-watch in my book. - Mushoku Tensei II: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu (2024) - I've always liked Mushoku Tensei and this season isn't any exception. Starts off more peaceful than others but it's an important moment of the story as evident to any LN readers. >>964 It's a nice show but the MC is a pretty big turnoff for me since I'm not a big fan of wet towels. In the first episode alone he'd EHHHHH? at the sign of any female. >as far as dragging down the AniDB rating AniDB's a great site for data but the ratings and forums are inhabited by people pretending anime is some weird form of high culture and being disappointed when they find out that the majority of it isn't. I wouldn't put too much thought into that part of the site, I've always thought of it as a database first and a list site second, hence the DB in the title. >>965 >as soon as I saw people on the internet talk about it being NTR. This is an overused joke, don't give much thought to it as it has no basis. The part people are talking about has zero hints to it being NTR unless you're explicitly going into it looking for NTR; it's *far* more likely she just performed 土下座 and that fits the story more anyways since she's prideful, and performing such is a significant point of shame for one who is full of pride.
>>
>>970 I see what you mean now. Nina is very irritating and emotional but this works because all of the main characters have strong characterization creating a strong band dynamic. I don't see why they had to turn it yuri though. It just works as a story of a jaded older musician mentoring a naive teen which would have worked fine without some of the corny rock crap and a narrower focus. Overall not a bad show and the animation is pretty good for 3D. I'd would have liked them to take this in a more mature dramatic direction but its gonna be yet another anime with a fairytale ending.

Right looks better.

whether or not 10's looks better than 90's, it's worse because 00's was the best and 10's/20's are making the conscious decision to be worse than 00's while 90's didn't know 00's existed yet.
>>
>>943 these generalist images suck because there's so much variation in each decade. sure there's some stylistic similarities but you cant tell me that ranma dna2 eva and ccs look the same when they all had stuff come out in the 90s

Brave creators hate lolicon and ask for you passport to use their cryptoscam, lol safety at its finest. And opera is just opera.
>>
>>948 >Brave creators hate lolicon Source??? Either way, as long as you can USE the BROWSER for looking/getting loli stuff, it does not matter. >and ask for you passport to use their cryptoscam The crypto scam is completely optional. >lol safety at its finest Yes, it's open source. >And opera is just opera. Opera used to be an independent browser 15 years ago, but nowadays it's a Chrome reskin. Brave is also a Chrome reskin, but unlike Opera, it does not send all you browsing history to the Chinese government https://spyware.neocities.org/articles/opera Anyway, I'm not shilling for Brave or anything. I personally use LibreWolf for most things, but I use Brave for invasive real world bullshit-related websites and the like and it works well enough.
Please keep the thread on its original topic

Favorite showa godzilla film?
2 posts omitted.
>>
>>874 This is the first Godzilla movie I've watched, partly because of the awesome poster and the badass villain, but the movie itself is kinda dull. The special effects really shine tho I've also watched Shin Godzilla and Godzilla Minus One which are great, but I'm still yet to watch the Showa-era movies Godzilla (1954) is turning 70 this year, so I'm waiting for its anniversary date to watch it finally, as a commemoration
>>
Probably Godzilla vs. Hedorah, or the original 1954 film. Godzilla vs. Hedorah is ridiculous and has a lot of cool art and music. The original is still great and a grim film. I also love Doctor Serizawa. It's really hard for me to pick a favorite though as they're all really fun and I have heavy nostalgia for all of them. Also, not really Godzilla but I do like the Frankenstein vs. Baragon movie. >>876 The Heisei films are pretty dull, but the special effects and great suits make them still tolerable to watch. I would probably recommend watching some Showa-era classics like the original '54 film, Godzilla vs. Hedorah, Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla, or Destroy All Monsters.
>>
>>878 I always thought G vs Hed was kind of silly in terms of my taste in Godzilla movies. I personally like Godzilla vs Mothra (1964) and Son of Godzilla (1967) >Baragon gal!?!?!?>
>>
Out of the Showa era films the original 1954 Godzilla is the best. Tbh the Showa era kinda sucked. Maybe because the effects just haven't aged well? The first film makes up for that with its dark atmosphere and visuals.
