my fellow man's of culture in /jp/... HOW TO LEARN JAPANESE? I think some here already can read and understand some basic level of japanese. I don't want to do grammar books because most of them are... A bit of waste of time? I dunno. And I am veeeryy lazy to do anki cards. I was learning the kanji radicals but I stopped by one day and I lost my streak currently I only know Hiragana. I really wanted to learn because there is a lot's of japanese media that simply isn't translated, and I can't enjoy because: >oopsie your nihongo level is N minus 6, owari da Anyway, how do you guys learn? Don't recommend me Duolingo. I HATE this partyvanrd.

>>683 >step 1 memorize the kana brute force memorize the kana this should only take a day or two a week max https://djtguide.neocities.org/kana/ progressively add another kana column until you have no trouble recognizing all the kana if you still have trouble write down each kana 50 times >step 2 learn some grammar grammar has 3 parts: Sentence Structure https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5PD1lORiwk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iyVZlaEqU24 Particles https://imabi.org/table-of-contents-%e7%9b%ae%e6%ac%a1/ https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/GqYvdEhgKNOcBDSZnDDGsWGc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwcTI9qvO-U&list=PLg9uYxuZf8x-FpkArMEoVVfw10TDT9I1h Verb Agglutinations https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIPhvGxp43c https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhyrskGBKHE https://wkdonc.github.io/conjugation/drill.html >step 3 Learn kanji together with basic vocabulary via premade sentence cards install anki install and configure kanjigod addon the only good piece of migaku software https://github.com/migaku-official/Migaku-Kanji-Addon start on this anki deck, 40 new cards a day, reviews before showing new cards https://tatsumoto.neocities.org/blog/basic-vocabulary#anki-deck > step 4 Start mining sentences from actual media https://arbyste.github.io/jp-mining-note-prerelease/ https://github.com/Ajatt-Tools/mpvacious

>>683 Sharing experience : I had one half a year break when I was learning and it took 1.5 weeks to catch up. If you feel like you literally cant go on anymore you can try taking a break but keep thinking about japanese so that your brain will automatically motivate you to pick up again in some time, i cant promise it will work for you but thats the tactics I use for everything i learn I also used https://jpdb.io/ instead of anki because it has cool features sch as going through each word of a videogame or an anime chronologically

>>

>>683 https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLA_RcUI8km1NMhiEebcbqdlcHv_2ngbO2&si=-Lnu0SCwBnNQuCxE i enjoy TokiniAndy's videos going over Genki 1 grammar. he explains the concepts in a way that's easy for me to understand. good supplementary material me thinks.

>>729 >>1381 my fucking god i can't even imagine putting this much effort into something. all i did was read a few guides on the internet and then just started figuring out the grammar and vocabulary piece by piece through reading and listening. took me a while to be able read much but i could never do shit like memorizing anki cards or studying kanji because i fucking hate studying. though i started doing all of this when i was young and not long after i really started caring about anime so maybe it's different for people who started learning as an adult because of brain stuff. i do want to have a fun discussion about japanese grammar with you so please talk to me about anything you find interesting. also explain the n levels shit to me because i don't get it.

>>1384 Your japanese level is measured from n5 to n1 n5 is the first and most basic and then n1 is cooler then an average native I think. U need to take an official test somewhere to determine what level u are and get a certificate so u can put it in ur resume or something Your learning way is pretty cool when it works because it means you probably percieve the language similar to japanese people. I wonder if you can understand bits of chinese text though?

i missed making the last few threads for reasons. 4/a/ is dead and it seems like discussion is scattered. other altchans shittalk currently airing things too much for me to want to talk about them there, so i'm posting a thread here. what're you all watching? post about it here.

I usually never watch more than 3 airing shows at once and there's always some 4 cour baby anime thrown in the mix so it doesn't really count. This is new

>>

>>1341 i haven't really been watching much of anything honestly. kinda thinking of watching the dark elf anime, but are any of these actually good? which do you recommend the most out of them?

>>

I'm enjoying the Shaft ninja show a lot.
