Whether it's Welcome to the N.H.K., .hack//SIGN, or something new like My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999, the MMO they play is always the same. It's medieval, comfy, and you can go on dungeons with your clan. When I look at MMO's that exist today, I see things like Black Desert or OSRS and such. I can't find anything comfy like in anime. I know WoW is a close contender, but I mean something eastern that isn't FF14. Do they even exist?

>>1873 Thinks like .hack were very much based off of FF 11

>>1873 >>1876 yeah welcome to the NHK also clearly references FF11. it was all the rage in japan back then. i never played it though i can't say how good it is. i think they closed the servers for new characters recently but i wouldn't even play it since i don't use windows and square obviously shut off PS2 support

>>1873 I love IMOQ so much. It's a completely unique experience in terms of atmosphere. What makes it even more immersive for me is that you barely see any character interactions outside of The World. It's like a double layer of escapism. You're focused on exploring an imaginary world within an imaginary world. The characters' behavior somehow manages to not ruin this magic. The only windows into "reality" are the news portal and email. I don't know if any of the existing MMOs are capable of offering the same experience though.
