mogeko castle && rpg maker Anonymous 12/06/2023 (Wed) 11:20:32 No. 513 [Reply]
>you stop at a unknown station >weird ass signs everywhere >yellowish little devils appear in a horde chasing you >they have an creepy fixation on high schoolers >you're a highschooler >random castle in the middle of the goddamn forest with those monsters around < SuReLy tHeY CoUlDn'T bE InSiDe The most dumbass game I've ever played Do you people in /v/ play RPG Maker Games? I've only heard about Ao Oni, Yume Nikki and Mogeko. I should keep playing it, but I can't stand dumb characters and I should have done a separate thread for this question, but nye. Don't kill me, admin. Please

>>513 mogeko castle is actually kind of nostalgic for me, it was one of the first rpgmaker games i got super into and i really liked the artstyle. probably wouldn't be able to play it these days, games that revolve around bad endings stress me out, and also i don't like rape. >I should keep playing it, but I can't stand dumb characters huh, yonaka never really struck me as dumb, but then again, i don't really remember mogeko castle that much. that might also be by design, you can tell the creator of mogeko castle has a very particular sense of humor. >Do you people in /v/ play RPG Maker Games? i used to be way more into rpgmaker games, i think i hit my peak with them in 2018, but i think i've outgrown a lot of them now, because a lot of the old ones i used to enjoy aren't any fun to me anymore... and every time i see a video essay on a new one, or someone tries to recommend me one, i always end up either not being interested in it (fear and hunger, for example, strikes me as babby's first ""dark""/horror game, and is also not fun at all) or i give it a try and it's not fun (see: fear and hunger, but also i tried out Black Souls because someone said it was admittedly vaguely similar to another game series i liked, and...it's dark souls but with the shitty rpgmaker active time battle system, so it's doubly not fun, though admittedly someone who's more into dark souls might get more out of that one. i'm starting to hate how popular souls games became, but that's another subject...) i still do hold a reverence for yume nikki, though, and probably always will. that might be one of my favorite games ever, or at least it has one of my favorite atmospheres of any game.

There was one most memorable RPG Maker game that I played back in 2012. It was called ニコニコRPG. I should play it again once I understand more Japanese Language.

Half-Life Anonymous 12/09/2023 (Sat) 13:46:45 No. 526 [Reply]
Did you play Half-Life during the 25th anniversary update? What did you think of the update and did it get you to play Half-Life again after years of not playing it? did you check out any of the new mods for it or replay old classics and favorites, and how did it feel to see HLDM fully populated again? Personally I loved every bit of it, and I genuinely didn't expect Valve to do an update this "big" for the 25th, it's been nice seeing people who haven't played it in years come back on and talk about it, and seeing newer players experiencing it for the first time, primarily the multiplayer and how beautifully chaotic it is. It's also fun seeing people play the past 25 years of mods for it, recommending my own picks, classics and fan favorites. It's a shame they didn't make their entire goldsrc catalogue permanently free, I would love to see all the other games get a big burst of players and potentially get revived with newer players that get into them

Is Sakuya a good main in Hisoutensoku when I'm new to fighting games?

>>489 There's another server for Hisoutensoku I'm in which seems pretty good, although I'm not very active in it. They provide resources for downloads, modding, and stuff. And documents explaining stuff. https://dicksword.gg/5Uw4N7T >Also, I'll be willing to play with you if you want. OP posted this a while ago, I wonder if he still goes on the site
>>
Sakuya is a good character to use as a main on Hisoutensoku. I also play Tenshi as secondary.
>>
>>508 She is really good, very powerful. I play Reisen as my main though
>>
>>521 Reisen is also strong for a different reason. I think she is slightly harder to play than Sakuya though.

Also hello admin from cudan

reading AIR right now, it's getting me quite a bit sad ;-;.
>>
>>315 what route are you on in the game? are you doing a blind playthrough or are you using a guide?
>>

I played Kanon and I teared up at Ayu's and Shiori's routes. I was brought to tears and the emotion is accelerated by the magnificent OST that plays during certain scenes. If you played the game, you'll know which ones I'm referring to. It's two specifically. Remnants of a Dream (Yume no Ato) and The Day When I Waited for the Wind (Kaze o matta hi) "I said miracles don't happen. But... I... was wrong... Yuuichi... Can... Can I... cry now...?"
>>
>>439 I never played the novel, only watched the anime years ago. I do remember Shiori's part in the anime making me cry though.

Touhou Thread Anonymous 07/04/2023 (Tue) 09:35:17 Id:5ab750 No. 91 [Reply]
ITT: We talk about Touhou from a gameplay perspective. Let's talk about Touhou!

>>297 It's very nice! I like the new characters, the music is good, although I wish there were more new tracks and gameplay has so far been good, but... at least Normal is too easy. I'm mostly a Normal player, but I cleared seven of the eight routes so far in the first try. I hope that Hard is a bit harder, I enjoy Hard a lot in PoDD so I hope it's also nice here
>>

Touhou is one of the games I have played the most in my life. If I am ever able to return, I would do more LNNNs.

I've played UFO on and off since 12 years old but never tried to move up past the hundred normal 1ccs I've racked up. Going to finally practice Lunatic because why not. Without resources because I like pain.
>>
I managed to get Hard 1ccs in 19! Reimu's route is easy, Marisa's too. Sanae and Ran are a bit harder, but I'm currently stuck at Aunn. On the other hand, I managed to complete 18.5. I think it was a pretty neat little game.
>>
>>394 Good job! I'm still meaning to play 19 soon when I get enough time

I only played the game a few times in arcades, but I had fun. The art style is cute and is not full of gimmicks like other rhythm games
>>
>>435 Yeah, the art style makes the whole game really cool and there's a LOT of songs.

Favorite 2hu OST? My favorite is Utsuho's theme Nuclear Fusion https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xy_-7OXophY&t=191s This remix is really neat too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDk6vr3_OMY I think it captures her character very well

>>159 Why is touhou so popular? Whats good about the series? I know it has a large and dedicated fanbase that makes fangames, doujins and even fanmade anime But the game just looks like a space invaders clone whats the big deal?
>>
>>374 >But the game just looks like a space invaders clone But does space invaders have cute girls? Plus, I feel like the music mainly made Touhou as popular as it is.
>>
>>374 any top-down shooter is a space invaders clone, technically... you have to remember that Touhou's been around for a couple of decades by now, and was made by only one person for the most part; the games are kind of like the progenitor to what we'd describe as the indie scene now. combine its age with fun (and/or challenging) gameplay, high replayability, a cool world filled with likeable characters, yet not super heavy on story so there's lots left to the imagination, and good music, and it's not very difficulty to see why it got popular initially. its enduring doujin scene and dedicated fanbase continues to keep the series and its fanbase not only relevant into the current day, but also still growing.
>>
Minus the screaming bits I have been quite enjoying this English Nuclear Fusion remix as of late. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMJ2xR5KQYM

>>368 >what phase comes after this phase? well, everyone has a different answer to that. some people who're super into RPGmaker stuff only exclusively play indies, some of them play platformers. most of them don't actually play games and only watch let's plays and reviews on the internet i tend to play anything that i think is fun. i've been playing a lot of JRPGs recently.

>>369 >most of them don't actually play games and only watch let's plays and reviews on the internet you clearly describe me I don't play video games anymore; I just collect games on my woshlist through steam thinking they're cool games to try (one day maybe)
