i humbly ask for someone to help me (as a newcomer too) to get into otaku culture. i want to step it up as i'm also trying to learn japanese now. what qualifies (or qualified) someone as an otaku? i've mostly been an outsider in the technology and vidya sense and that's what i usually stick to in the imageboards i've been, but i've never really got into watching a ton of anime or manga besides some old stuff like SEL and monster. (nice place btw)
>>
i think its the same as "being a man", where if you can call yourself one (and have an xy chromosome), you are one.
>>
it's not like we just "got into" otaku stuff. go watch anime, read manga, read LNs, play VNs, play jap vidya, listen to jap music, learn jap history, collect figures. whatever interests you. if you don't have an innate interest in things like that beyond them being "otaku" then that makes you a poser and you shouldn't bother.
>>
You're actually interested in animanga, vidya games, vns, ect. You're not into them because you're an otaku, you're an otaku because you're into them. >>1408 I personally don't think you could call yourself an otaku if you've only watched one anime...
>>
>>1414 That's like your opinion dude
>>
>>1415 Woah man why are we like talking like stoners dude
>>
>>1416 >>1415 woah dudes lets like... all be chill and stuff okay....peace and love bros...
