anyone like 1950s - 1980s movies? i don't see a lot of filmbro stuff on here, but since we're all nerds in one way or another, thought i'd ask..... down also if so does anyone have good recs..

>>

>>9868 I watched Citizen Kane, I wouldn't say it's really one, but it was one of my favorites. Do you have any recs?

>>

>>9876 ooh, i never watched citizen kane... who's starring in it? my current favorites are some like it hot (1959), 12 angry men (1957), paths of glory (1957), the taking of pelham one two three (1974), psycho (1960), and 2001: a space odyssey (1968) tried to find as many genres as i could lol. are you looking for anything specific?

>>

>>9905 >who's starring in it I believe, Orson Welles, and Ray Collins are the names off the top of my head, it was in 1940s, so it's close enough For some more you could watch, I heard Rosemary's Baby was nice. And Manchurian candidate too. I feel like a lot of the 1960s had James Bond films, 1970s had Jaws and Rocky, I think you'd love it >2001: a space odyssey I really liked that one, one of the better long movie experiences >12 angry men I've heard of this, I've heard good things of it though, might watch >anything specific Not really, I appreciate the recs!

One I really enjoyed recently was The Three Musketeers from 1973. Oliver Reed (picrel), Christopher Lee, Charlton Heston. It was a lot of fun to watch and a lot funnier than I expected. Speaking of Heston, you can't go wrong with him. Ben-Hur is one of my top 3 movies. Planet of the Apes, Omega Man... All really great. If you want some good comedies, check out Terrence Hill and Bud Spencer. Trinity is my favorite western.

> the 1960s had James Bond films, 1970s had Jaws and Rocky been meaning to watch all of these. i really like sean connery and sly stallone especially > I've heard of this, I've heard good things of it though, might watch it really is good, which kinda surprised me. it's not very conventional in that it almost only takes place in one room, the plot being more of a discussion. regardless, it really grabbed me... the same director made dog day afternoon and serpico, too. the former is really good as well, the latter i still have to watch. al pacino is the lead in both, he's super awesome > midnight cowboy, the three musketeers, citizen kane putting these on my watchlist!! > taxi driver seen that one around twice heh. i love robert de niro he's such a good actorneco_dance

>>9868 Have you seen Sunset Boulevard? It's pretty damn good. Also fairly meta but I loved it while not getting some of the meta stuff.

>>

>>9998 oooh not yet... i'll look it upnya thanks!!!
