Any other hikarians who suffer from speech impediments? What impediments do you have? When did it start? How do you cope? How many times do you wish death upon yourself when you're forced to speak publicly? How do you think it affected your life? I'll start: >What impediments do you have? stutter / stammer + heavy blocking >When did it start? as long as i can remember >How do you cope? obv i re-arrange my sentences and use synonyms but when i have to say a specific word that ik i will stutter in i try to skip or say the first syllable in a quieter voice this trick rarely works tho because i don't have a great control over my voice >How do you think it affected your life? ofc it made me make almost 0 friends as a kid because everyone thought i am a weird retarded kid because i sound like one hence i deserve to get bullied but actually now that i think about it, the lack of friendship was actually valuable cuz it made me develop skills and hobbies that i wouldn't have had time to

>What impediments do you have? I have selective mutism, I stutter sometimes and have blocks (I think.) I don't know if it's considered a speech impediment, but I get thrown off when strangers greet me and so I can't greet them back. >When did it start? I can't remember any of it occurring before I was a teenager. I did, however, go to a speech therapist as a child, because I couldn't pronounce words properly; maybe the former issues were also present at the time. >How do you cope? When I was mute -which I haven't been for over 2 years, now- I would write my words down on paper. I don't feel as if I have to cope with my stutter. When strangers greet me, I have learned that I can reply with a nod, so as to not come across as rude. happy2 >How many times do you wish death upon yourself when you're forced to speak publicly? I feel embarrassed of myself after speaking to cashiers, but so do I feel about my other weird mannerisms. >How do you think it affected your life? The other impediments haven't been much of issues for me, but mutism has harmed me horribly at one point in life, I can't talk about it. >i deserve to get bullied Children are cunts, Hikarin did not deserve to get bullied. >the lack of friendship was actually valuable cuz it made me develop skills and hobbies that i wouldn't have had time to Skills and interests can still be shared between friends, Hikarin deserves someone to share theirs with.

Your fortune: Better not tell you now

>>

>>11963 I never really had them, but I always feel bad for a few older people who are unable to speak well, I always try to speak to them but I have no idea if they understand me or if they get frustrated >>11966 Did people ever treat you differently in organizations that doesn't sound good cry

>>

>>11969 >Did people ever treat you differently in organizations that doesn't sound good I don't think I understood what you meant by "organizations." As a schoolchild, I was treated differently by my teachers and ignored by others in group projects. Although, that didn't have anything to do with my speech impediments, as they weren't apparent yet.

Your fortune: Very bad luck

>What impediments do you have? Alogia, or well poverty of speech >When did it start? At least from what my family proudly claims, its been with me forever. I taught myself how to read and speak English and Spanish (i lived abroad as a refugee) as a response to the fact my parents were neglectful of my existence; i was raised by my grandparents on both sides of the family. >How do you cope? i only really speak in places i feel comfortable in speaking and if i have to speak publicly i give myself a script and just pray to whatever god that someone doesn't ask me something i didn't prepare for. Additionally I just hang out in text forums so i can get my warped dose of social life. >How do you think it affected your life? Well to put in a way my partner usually describes me, its made me meek and very lonely. Even though people who meet me for the first time enjoy the way that i speak, they quickly get bored and annoyed of my way of speaking do to it being too embellished (my partner is unfortunately not the exception). Most of my friends are few and far between, with the majority of them just being mutual friends with my partner.

Your fortune: Bad Luck

>>

>>11990 You can date me (if you're a girl). I would be too thankful to ever cheat on you. I don't have a speech impediment but I stutter sometimes because I forget the word I'm looking for sometimes.

>>

>>11992 Wow I got totally ghosted on my dating offer

>>

>>11981 No advantages, from what I have noticed. Maybe some people think that mutism is cute -another Hikarin said so about stuttering- but most people would treat me as if I was retarded when I was still mute. People would often times grab hold of my notepad, that I used to communicate with, when I spoke to them, which was very stressful. I recently remembered that I actually had a.a.c. cards as a child; some of the problems were evidently apparent when I was younger; I have even received a pair of anime-themed ones as a teenager, which wasn't too long ago, but I never used them. >>11992 >>12016 You come across as creepy when you ask female strangers, on an anime forum, to date you, and in a thread about speech impediments, out of all things.

Your fortune: Excellent Luck

>>

>>12021 >You come across as creepy when you ask female strangers, on an anime forum, to date you Maybe, but how else am I supposed to date a hikarin or find a date at all? I have to put myself out there if I want any luck. Also people who like anime don't exist here (south carolina), so I have bad luck when trying to find a soulmate
