Life on Titan Anonymous 07/06/2023 (Thu) 01:25:21 No. 57
I've heard people say this before, but idk the arguments for it. Is it possible?
>>
I feel like life could exist on there because of its atomosphere rich in organic compounds. It has lakes, seas of liquid methane and ethane, etc.
>>
>>58 What are your thoughts on the adaptations and forms life is taking in the environment?
>>
>>58 https://www.esa.int/Science_Exploration/Space_Science/Cassini-Huygens/Life_on_Titan There's a lot of challenges and conditions that also make it unlikely
>>
>>60 When is this article from? >There's a lot of challenges and conditions that also make it unlikely That doesn't completely disregard the idea though. It just shows off how unpleasant it'd be with the extremely cold temperatures and lack of liquid water https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life_on_Titan Life on Titan probably doesn't need liquid water anyway The article also says that Titan could get warmer in the future.
>>
Life on Titan? Yeah, there was for a few hours
>>
>>70 I think you forgot the "ic"
>>
>>67 Titan becoming warmer in the future is only a slight possibility It's still being researched because the climate is mostly influenced by methane and ethane (kind of like Earth's water cycle)
>>
>>71 No, The submarine was called "Titan"
>>
read the above wikipedia page the tl;dr is that conditions seem favorable to a certain type of hypothetical life and there is some weird chemistry going on near the surface that isn't easily explained without it
